I had started realized that whenever I feel stressed out, I get this pangs of desire to just to hop on to the next flight home. I missed the food, my friends and the convenience of being home.

When this happens, I find that it becomes seriously exhausting to keep pushing on. But surprisingly, it is the fact that the more I got to go home, and when I return to Perth, the heavier this particular emotion gets.

Now, although I know that it isn't very thing good for me to do, I tend to find myself often comparing my lifestyle to that in Singapore. While it is true that working in the Lion City might is tiring and stressful compared to living in here, some people do not see the disadvantages of living here alone.

I really like the idea of coming home to place where I get to whine, pester family members and where hot food is ready or gotten cheaply. That is like a dream for me at this time. I don't have a license, it takes me half an hour walk to get to the trains in the morning at 6am, rent must be paid, food is expensive with a average of $12 for a simple dish, grocery is heavy and far away, dinner and a lunchbox be made everyday not matter how tired you get.

But, don't me wrong. I don't hate staying here. I think it is just because I am feeling very pressured by the exam tomorrow that I am feeling this way...

Here is a brief insight on whats happening....

As most of you know, after 2 and a half years of suffering, I have graduated!!

However, I realised that you cannot easily get a job in marketin here as most marketing firms are in anywhere but Perth. (ﾟДﾟ≡ﾟДﾟ)

This lead me to joining a Volunteering group in AYCC for Powershift.

BUT!!! ｶﾞ━━Σ(ﾟДﾟ|||)━━ﾝ!!

With the help of my design experience, I gotten a contract position till early december!!

It is a great job. Good pay, ends at 4.30pm, nice people....

The only problem is that... I don't have a car and thus need to get up at 5.30pm!!! OMFG!!!

Higher education?

As I am graduating really soon, thoughts of what university means began to emerge in my mind. Why do we go for higher education? Is it really for the pursue of knowledge?

Ironically, the answer is no. Perhaps ten years ago, individuals would enter the program because they wanted to learn. Today, as I watch many students simply studying just to get a passing grade, I realized how much the situation had changed. Most of these students are here, in this overpriced education facility, for a "ticket", one they supposing-ly leads to a better pay, brighter future (How many times have we heard that?). But how true is this?

In my opinion, it had indeed became a necessity to find a good career, but it does not mean that you will have a bad future without it. One can still do well, even when lacking of "book-smart" skills. I feel that college education is just a certificate, a prove that "yes, I can study", pointless in real life... Ok, perhaps not pointless... But, slightly redundant...? Afterall, what that is going to take you through, is what you can learn at work and how street-smart are you.

However, it is needless to say, just my point of view. What do you think?

I have a love-hate relationship with group works. There have been times where I totally loved my group mates, respected them and it just went so well. Other times... well, we had the "vanisher", the "CMI", the "know-it-all-but-actually-don't-know", the "whatever", the "IDK" and lots of others.

But honestly, if you are a final semester student and is still waiting for your group to tell you to this and that, you seriously need to reconsider your position. Especially when it comes to simulation. You can't really expect us to tell you, "Go research this, go do that!" during such a tight timeline. You are not in secondary school and we are not your tutors. I at least would want to consider my team-mates as equals, having initiative to keep and eye out for what is required and read what is supposed to be read BEFORE any meeting.

Okay, thats all for my rant. Sorry if I annoyed anyone. Thanks~!

When I started working part-time last year, someone gave me an really useful tip.

"Don't Listen to whatever ******* says, she makes things up."

True to the tip, this co-worker of mine started inventing the weirdest rules that she tell others (and made it sound really convincing!) stuff like what to wear BEFORE the job, stuff we are allowed or not allowed to do and telling us that there are people monitoring us and reporting if our uniforms are not neat. I seriously believed she was paranoid by then. But by then, I started wondering why did she do that.

Another colleague laughed and asked me, "Why do you think she had not been promoted for SIX years?" I paused at that. Working for 6 years and not getting promoted? Thats sad. But I could not help but felt annoyed as I watched her spread her... "knowledge" to the newbies today.

Then the manager came up to one of them and told her the same thing my co-worker told be so long ago. Laugh~!

Hail All! I am not dead! I swear! I mean, maybe you could consider this a revival, me come back from the dead like zombies from Resident Evil, but that is not the point is it?

Putting this situation aside, I am back in Perth again as most of you would have known. And starting with the most basic question of "How are you?" I would say I am hot. Not the "Hot babe" Hot of course! I was referring to the term warm, steaming and burning hot. I certainly have no comments on how one side of Australia is having temperatures dropping and flood, while this side of the continent is reaching to almost a state of a drought plus an addition of having ridiculously high temperature that allows you to cook eggs on the bare road. Fun isn't it?

Now moving on to why is this blog being typed in this manner, "not my usual style" thingy, put all blames on the movie social network. The guy's way of blogging is simply eating into me and I was just dying to try it. Can't say that I would compare girls to that of farm animals. That would be rather hilarious don't you think? However, it is rather unfortunate that this particular movie made me feel rather... degraded. I mean com'on! All these guys are like super smart Harvard student with the skills or money to match! I certain was a hit on my thoughts of the society "class" diversity.

When you tell kids to read instructions, you ignore the Bold letters that says "Only bottled water allowed" and call us ridiculous for stopping you from trying to bring ice-cream in.

You want your child to be safe. But to let them run up and down stairs, climb seats, attempt to scale a wall, roll on carpets and jump over chairs.

In the end,

Just another Site Visit

I am drained. I don't know if it is due to the class this morning, where I FINALLY met my group mates and allocated the work to them (No one took initiative to start) or was it due to the site visit where I endless chase down the spokeswoman to record her voice whilst trying to take some pictures. I think it was the latter.

My site visit happens to be at a beer brewery, where we had to write a full report on their operations and how they manage them. I think the most memorable part of the whole trip... was the free food and drinks at the end. Even if we had to pay for the bloody trip and find a way to get there from school. There isn't much to talk about the place. Just know that in the past, a guy could slap one 1,200 labels on bottles in 16 minutes. That includes the time to put glue on. Then machines came and kicked him out.

For those of you who do not know, I am moving out end of this week! Yes! Out of this house into somewhere else. It would be a little further to school (I think... have not tried walking yet), but it is closer to many food places! I don't need survive on subway and chicken rice (or more like chicken and rice) when I dun wanna cook anymore!

3D Tv and Counterfeits

This semester, my subjects had included Brand management, Managing Operations, Strategic Marketing and Sustainable Tourism Management. 3 of my units are management units which means reports, presentations, more reports and essays. ...Did i mention reports?

Anyway, in my strategic marketing module, we were required to pick one of these three "things" to market. That was Virgin Galatica, Samsung 3D TV or Amazon E-books. My team was relatively against e-books as we did not see much "improvements" available that would be interesting. However, the was a debate with the leftovers. After a lengthly one hour argument on which we would do. We decided in the silliest way possible. A coin flip. (Well, we tried the "Pick which is the longest pencil lead" but it did not really work. XD.) In the end, we ended with the 3D Tv.

Ok... First let me state something. I have something against these 3D television. I mean these things are definitely discrimination against people with Myopia or people with small noses! Those evil gadgets require these heavy big eyewear that would NEVER fit on top of my glasses! Not only that. Did you know that 5-10% of people have stereo blindness? That means that they would not be able to watch 3D! There was also a reality check issue. If young children are to keep watch these stuff, soon they would not be able to differentiate between a television series and reality. We would then have a number of delusion kids running into cars thinking they were part of show. D:

But then, it was also said that 3D TV without the glasses are coming out by the end of this year. Thats so fast! 3D television have not even been out a year! Sigh... Technology is like moving so fast! There is also research that show hologram TV would be a norm in our houses within 10years. Although I am against the 3D television, ironically, these hologram TV intrigue me. I would really like to see one. It would be like STARWARS (not that I like that show)!

Putting my rants on 3D television aside, another research I was required to do was on brand mimicries (counterfeits). The three type of these, one which the copy each other product confusing customer to buy it and would be harmful to them, other which benefits the customer (not exact copy but look alike) and the last which most of us who study design knows very well. The copy of trends and a bit here and there like the checkered patterns and stuff. It is really an interesting topic to research on too.

I was really surprised that the country that does the best counterfeiting was not China but Korea! The question that arises was if we supported brand mimicries. Well, not all mimicries are illegal. If you think about it, creative creates the MP3, apple copies the concept and become I-pods. In all honesty, I actually support these mimicries. It gives us cheaper alternatives and also, we would never know WHO copied WHO. It is always the big companies that win these copyright law, but we could not deny that they also copy and may be the real copycats.

The Assignment Marathon

I have just completed a 15hours, non-stop, no food marathon in school before finally coming home at 11AM and hitting the sack. I thought I was gonna die of Hunger! Well, no thanks to the China guy who thinks Flash mobs are an amazing Christmas Promotion Plan for Perth. I have to laugh at what he had written though. I mean, who MAKES UP your own estimated stats about INCREASE IN TOURISM as an aftereffects? Plus there was no referencing!! Plus he had use You-tube and Wikipedia as a references for the other sections he was in-charge of... To say we were stun would be an understatement.

Some of my friends are graduating soon, and there had be a question "floating" around. Is honors worth taking? It is another year and the same fees as undergrad studies; half a year for studies and half a year for thesis. Some said "yes", especially if you are doing masters or PHD and it can also erm... "enhance" your standing when looking for a job. Others said "no", considering the time and money wasted and that it is business studies, thus the honors is not as much importance as the science department. What do you guys think?

Anyway, this is pretty much it. Another 3 more assignment to complete at end of next week, then the study break and then the exams and WA~LA! I will be coming home! Haha... I should be worried about having 3 of then all coming at once, but I have no idea why I am unfazed at the thought. Maybe the panic have not sunk in yet. XD

Winter?

Winter is not here yet, but I am freezing! One night, it even went as low as 1.2 degrees and I was practically jumping around shivering. Sniff... it makes it really hard to get up too! I flip open the comforter... BRRR! Cover back and snuggle... XD

University is as usual and I have been cope at home for quite a while with all the assignments and projects that never seem to end. But...doesn't it always seem that way? Nevertheless, I was really lucky to have a great team for marketing research with all the members really hardworking. Thank god~! Had it be a slacking group, I think the 100 page report would have be a pain! But on the other hand, the other classes' group work is.... oh never mind about those people.... >-<|||

Now that I have book my flight home, I am really looking forward to it. But first, I have to face the hurdles known as the final assignments and exams. Well, I will not say that I would pray to do well... I don't think that will help much. Rather then that... I pray I have the motivation to study at that point... HAHA! Am I contradicting myself?

The wallaby count

When those volunteers told me we were gonna COUNT wallaby, I had expected an easy job. I mean how difficult can counting get? I was dead wrong. They drag me trough an 8KM trek though the scrubs and bushes in the wildlife park on an it was more of the spot the wallaby job.

Well, saying it sound not too bad isn't it? HELL NO! The bushes here were sharp!! VERY Sharp!! And we had to force pathways in places I never though was possible. But there and then, it was a pretty interesting trip. I don't think most people will actually get to do stuff like that.

The funniest (and scariest) thing was that me and one of the volunteers actually got Lost in the wildlife. The wildlife park itself was not a small place. You had to take like 15mins car ride in the park itself to get from one place to another inside it. So you can imagine our feeling when we found out that we could not see our team mate beside us during the combing of the forest (we stand 5 to 10m apart and walk in the forest to spot the wallaby).

Then there were the insects. Spiders and bugs and TICKS! OMG! I was paranoid about those. Often check myself and praying they were not me. Most of the volunteers got like at least 5 of those on them. I haven got one and I believe it was thanks to the large amount of repellent I had used at the start of the trip. Thank god!

Putting the "exciting" trip aside, I had been having quite a busy week ~~due to certain "ahem-s" who had refused to do their part in the presentation, causing me to nearly unable to finish up my other assignment (You know who you are)~~ Nevertheless, here is an update of the previous drawing.... I think the anatomy is wrong though... can someone help me?

The Blog and The Storm

Haha! I am really sorry. I had forgotten about blogging with all the stuff going on.

Ok... First thing as ~~all~~ most of you know, I haven been in Perth for a month, moved to a new place, gotten a job in the convention center, bought a new phone, experienced hail/summer heat, watched Alice in Wonderland and is currently flooded with assignments. Looking at this list, makes me wonder if so many stuff had really happened in such a short time.

The hail as most people are curious about was not too bad in my area fortunately. I was having classes at that point and was relatively safe in the classroom though I heard from my friends that they were later evacuated from their block. And since the hail was pretty light in my area we receive little damages ~~also, there are no holes in my car cause i have none! HAHA!~~. However, the massive blackout rendered my house pretty unless for about 6 hours. That was lucky though as I had other classmates in houses without electricity for more then 24 hours.

Is it me or does anyone find Avatar simply a 3D/futuristic version of Pocahontas?

Watching the movie, I was like... "heyyyyy, wait a sec, why is the plot so familiar?" But I am not saying the movie was bad. Just that the story seems a total rip off. However, it is a plus plus for the 3D well done. There were amazing effects and great characters modeling/rigging. In fact, it was astounding that they managed pull this off though I had a passing thought that it would be amusing to watch a 21st century version of Pocahontas.

On the other hand, Percy Jackson and the lightning thief was a really BAD!!! Other than the great effects, the story was pure stupidity. I mean a lift to Olympus (with kinna kiddy swirly effect at the back) ? Hades wife was a sexually-desperate native American? Hell under HOLLYWOOD (that was a little amusing)? the kid that recovered within MINUTES after his mom got killed and he find out his teacher was not human? Come on! You can do better than that!! All the slapstick comedy and those overused action sequence is not really appealing. Therefore, what a waste of money! Don't watch it!!

I went out with Andrew, Meiyun and Kenneth to watch a movie Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief (What a waste of time) and happened to see some Gacha machines (Love Gacha machines!!) with my favorite hitman reborn characters: HIBARI!!!!

After attempting to get him 5times and got bell 5TIMES instead!! How does a person get a same item in a Gacha machine 5times? I will never understand.... LOL... So lucky or Suay? Must buy 4D: "1818" or sth to represent hibari or something...

Being busy this holiday with work, school and stuff. Had fun times and bad times too... but the holidays are coming to an end with my flight due to return on the 27th February and exams around the corner....

Putting that aside, I have been active in drawing again these days (happpieeee~!) and bought a bamboo wacom to draw back in Australia. This lead to the issue of the lack of membership card design for my club and i decided to give a try in designing one.

It didn't turn out too bad did it? Haha.

I am also relieved that my last assignment is turning out well too ~~though i would not say the same for my last assignment~~ and i hope of the best....

I understand that it had been a very long while since I last posted and therefore apologize to anyone who ACTUALLY follows this blog. ~~My advise to you is don't.~~ I have either been very busy (excuse) or forgotten about this (fact).

It had been...
I have finally ended my torturous days of junk food, finger-countable hours of sleep per week, butt pain for sitting too long, endless studying and facing the pile of paper that could bury me alive. I have to admit, I had NEVER EVER studied so hard in my life. I really have to worship Wan Ling; the person who manage to convince me into entering the hell pit this way and seeming enter a deeper hell : 34hours-truce-with-the-Z-monster-to-be-paid-back (I think she is still paying back with interest).

Speaking of which, now, in my post exam period, I have been moving house, watching anime, dramas, reading novel and preparing to go home. Ha~! I am a busy person aren't I.

I had been watching the Taiwanese Drama "Fated to Love You" by a friend's recommendation and found it really silly at first, but the plot picks up later with a twist. I also have been recommended to watch the Korean variety show, "Let's get married" and managed to watch a few episode via youtube ~~dam data sucker~~. Really great show. I have to remind myself to catch it in Singapore. Lastly, I skimmed though the anime "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0" which is average-slow show but with a interesting ending.

In facebook, it had really been funny when a group insisting the refund of CIB (Communication in Business), one of our subjects, claiming it to be the most useless subject ever. ~~I concur though~~ . The group was started right after the exam (within hours after it) and by the end of the 2nd day, it had about 364 members cursing the exam and subject. What was really more amusing (other than the VERY colorful languages and words) was that the university removed the group from facebook by the third day. I am anticipating a protest and riot soon. LOL~!

This Saturday!!! It will be THE DAY!!!! Of MY RETURN!!!! MUHAHAHA!!! BEWARE ALL!! CHERYL IS COMING BACK TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! Haha!! Yes, I am sure it is pretty obvious that I have be craving to back in Singapore ~~for the food~~. This time, I shall be back for 3months.

Sadly to say, not all for holidaying. It will be summer school for me, in Singapore's Curtin University. I am pretty curious how the Singapore's one look. I shall only be taking two subjects though.

Hey guys....! It has been a while since I have updated this blog. I have been pretty busy with my life lately; with projects and test dued every week. ~~In fact, I had been coped up in my room, school and the supermarket for the past 2 week!~~ What a life~~! T~T

Some assignment had been ridiculously annoying.... I mean this time wasting subject called "Communication In Business" is a total waste of time. They teaches you stuff like Mind maps, how to look for books in the library and such. It also has an annoyingly time consuming project that requires you to write a 800 word report on doing business in India, with referencing. It seems pretty easy right? 800 words?

The problem is that the main idea of the report is you must find books to back up or contradict ideas from other sources, use a lot of "BIG" words and the worst part is REFERENCING!!! The horrors of the horrors I tell you!! You will be required to seek the publisher, place and year of publishing, issue and page and stuff related for EVERY SINGLE BOOK YOU HAVE USED~~~!! That is almost every concept or idea you have write; which is to say every sentence. Here is how you will look like:

Anyway, I FINALLY went out!!! WEEEEE~~~! MIRACLE!!!! HALLELUJAH~! It was an laser tag event by our housing! It was really fun but tiring. I swear I will never let Jin Hao to "cover me" again.... he disappeared halfway.... We were divided into 3 teams (RED, BLUE, YELLOW) and brought to this very dark room which was like a maze.

It started with each team being at their respective base and the aim was to run to the opponent's base to fire at their base's core (a round thingy at the corner) green lights thrice. If you get shot, you will be unable to fire for about 8seconds. There are lights and indicators on the vest to show which team you belong to, but will go off upon getting shot.

We ended up crawling, sneaking and lying (I told another guy "same team!" when my lights was off.... then shot him when I "revived".... *Evil Grins~*) !! I have seriously wished that all you guys from Poly where there to play too~! It would have been fun as the real Live CS!

During on the the freaky cold morning (8am) of my exam.... (shiver~~~) I saw this rainbow....!

Ok.... I am NOT dead.... just lazy and busy..... what do you expect from a person who is in post exam mode and not able to go home and not to mention being abandon by friends going home (How could they!!! T-T)? Ok... quick update on what had happened for the past week...

Hello people! Yes, do no fret. I am still alive and so is this blog. Life have been moving forward as usual, with my final exams in June. Time really flies!

One thing i can say about lifestyle in Australia is that i find the people living here do not take meeting seriously. I mean it gets REALLY annoying when people don't turn up for group meetings and when one tries to contact them, they give ridiculous excuses like "Wasn't it on Saturday?" or not answer the phone. It have already happened 4times with 2 different group already, so don't tell me it was just coincidental! With team mates MIA throughout projects, it is amazing we are even close to finishing it.

I have been reading Kuroshitsuji's manga. It is pretty amusing and addictive. Demon butler, egoistic kid, bunch of evil noblemen, death gods, pastries, curry and not to mention the dark plot lurking at the background.The drawings for it are pretty good too!

Today there was Easter celebration. I was invited by some friend to this carnival. Though we had to sit though 1hour of erm... Churchy thingy... and some people were dancing like they were possessed... There was a guy whose life story was soooo movie like! His name is Tony Anthony. Half Italian, half Chinese (weird combo!). Raised in China, 3 times Kung Fu champion. Worked as an elite bodyguard for rich and powerful. Fall in love with blind law student. She died in car crash. Lost himself to anger. Killed unnecessarily. Thrown to jail. Talked to a pastor who converted him.Haha! Drama right? The carnival itself was fun (It was free! XD) where there quite a few games and stuff.

Last weekend, I went for ice skating. It was much colder and bigger than the one in Singapore. Furthermore, there were occasional optional game of tag and changing of skating direction. It was pretty fun trip.

Anyway, I felt some of you guys might interested in my flats' "Sunday-get-together-dinner" where most of us cook a dish(or rice) and have dinner. Yup! The pictures at the bottom are two of the dinner spread we had!

Apologies! I had been a week since I have blogged. Many things had happened last week, inclusive of a house mate’s birthday, quite a “few” readings, assignments and research to be done.

Management project had not and will not be easy. I had been doing research on expansion of an Australian company to India (And why India of ALL places? I don’t know either. It seems like my lecturer chose it on a whim.). I had to research on their taxes, laws and stuff like that and this report is dued in a week. Marketing and economics had required a LOT of reading. I had to read like 3 reports, journals and articles on those. It seriously took a long time.

Me and my 2 other house mate decided to make an Ice-cream cake for my house mate’s birthday, while Kai (Our housing assistant) make 2 types of pasta. It was really funny when the ice cream kept melting as soon as it took it out from the fridge. In the end, we had to work with the freezer’s door opened in the middle of the night. It was really fun and we watch “Babylon AD” (What a horribly, senseless show).

Lol! It had been a week since I had blogged. Week 1 of school is finally over. Assignments had been given out and dued soon. (Managing report is dued on March)

My Economics tutor was pretty fun. When we went to the class, to our surprise, he said, “Welcome to physiotherapy class 1! I hope you are in the right class!” At this point, a few people started packing up. “Oh! What class are you suppose to be taking?”, “Erm, econs?”, “Oh well, I guess we can do that too…”

My managing lecturer was interesting too! On the other hand… my tutor was…lets see… boring is a little of an understatement… Though there was this guy who is SO obviously a playboy in my class. I was talking to these 2 pretty girls who were seated next to me when he hurried to the front and started talking to them. When my other friend and I were talking to him or asking stuff, he kinds of ignores us and only talks to those girls. Somehow, this situation half annoyed and at the same time amused me.

As for accounting lecture, the only thing I remember is desperately trying to copy the notes before the slides were changed. Marketing lecturer was a facts person… I would wait a few more lessons before commenting.

Anyway, Gwen and I finally gotten a Laser printer at $65. It was sold out so fast that we had to go to the shopping mall 3 days in arrow before getting it. I was on the verge of giving up on it and getting a multi function ink one for $59.

Yesterday, we had a kind of like ECA orientation thing. There were some pretty weird booths around including the gay/lesbian club, some bank thing that is giving out bee hair band… FREE Hotdog and some one was attempting to give me “Orange & Chilli” canned drink. Surprisingly, there is a Kendo club here too. But I don’t think I will join. Later, there was another Bbq in one of the housing. Then my housing assistant was supposed to take us to the tavern but we ended up in Flat 44 as the tavern was too crowded. We played a bit of drinking games (I still hate beer) and then went back home.

Today we had a bit of a lecture on saving money and stuff then had this housing meeting for all new residence. Well… The pizza and prawns were good….

Today, we had a long overdue dinner from our housing assistant! He had promised it quite a while ago. It was pretty good. There was chicken(expensive things), potato salad and some vegetables. We were helping him to make some brownies after that. He actually wanted to make some cake... but he bought flour instead of rising flour...

Nothing much to do back here. Had been reading my marketing textbook. There are so much words and it took me so long to reach page 17(the text were very small and plentiful OK?! Hmph!). Although I had wanted to complete the chapter. I decided to stop and continue another day... Pizza here cost $5 every Tuesday(Medium size in Singapore standard). So I had one with Gwen.

Do you know MacDonald here are very interesting. A regular meal will only give you a small drink and fries... We were so surprised when we saw the cup.

The student guild here is CRAZY! I mean $99.95 for 1year of guild membership?!? SIAO LA!

Orientation: Day 6

I was kind of tired yesterday after watching Interview with the Vampire (It is a damn gay show), thus let me give you a summary about the tour now.

At first, we went to the winery and tasted some red and white wine. I think it was a mistake to try the 18% one first, because I felt the rest were too blend later. The wine’s prices were pretty reasonable like $14 to $35 for the average on ones. Next we went to the chocolate factory. We did not get to really see the making of chocolates but still the chocolates were really nice. We then realize it was Valentines Day. We bought some chocolate and then headed off to the next stop. The wildlife park. We saw and fed kangaroos, petted koalas and wombats and more. Then we went to the Hillary Harbour and went to the aquarium. I think Singapore’s Underwater world is better other than the fact that this had an outdoor area. We then went for some fish and chips which tasted horrible! After rushing to so many places, we were rather drained.

Anyway, I might sign up for this internet plan that does not belong to school. It is a 2 year plan costing $39 per month, giving you 6GB every month. Further more, it uses an internet key, thus wireless! The flaw with this plan? 10cents charge with every MB exceeded.

Orientation: Day 5

Today was an extremely fun but long and tiring day. Well let’s start from the morning when we took a bus to town. Bus here run on schedules and you will need your bus timetable or you might have a long wait. They will arrive before allocated time and leave EXACTLY on the dot. Anyway, we boarded the bus and the bus seemed keep moving around private estates and we spotted some of the bus stops were simply these sticks with numbers telling you the what buses arrive here on the ground!! We then had lunch at Chinatown. There was a rather well-known little shop that was selling Hong Kong Duck Rice. It was very delicious.

I think throughout the whole trip to the city, the most fascinating thing was a random, high-tech TOILET just by the road. The door had a side panel which open as you touch it and the door itself was like a lift’s door. It was pretty clean and there is even MUSIC when you enter it. I think there was a button to put the toilet seat down too! The funniest thing was that there was a sign that says that there was a 10 minute time limit per use… I wonder what will happen if you over exceed the time… LOL! Anyway, while this bunch of “swau-ku” Singaporeans were fascinated by the toilet, the Australians were pretty much staring at us….

Next we went to a factory outlet where they sell Adias, Nike, Billabongs and more a cheap prices. I had gotten myself a pretty decent Roxy windbreaker for $69. Then we went to one of my friend’s house to exchange some movies and drama. Though his rent was much more expensive, it was a really beautiful apartment. We also met his mum, auntie and room mate.

Later at night, we had a housing party for people staying at Kurrajong Village. We met many international friends, which I unfortunately don’t remember half the names. I had fun playing beach volleyball which I am really bad at since I keep missing the ball and sinking into the sand. And I also chat with many people including people from Germany, U.S, Australians, and more. Oh well, of course there some people (mainly Australians) who keep “tao-ing” us… but mostly they are pretty friendly.

I can tell you what boring is. I mean the most interesting show I found on Tv was the Australian's Deal or No Deal and the news? Come on! You can do better than that! Anyway I went to a talk about living in Australia and the lecturer was pretty interesting. Yea, we skipped the Brain game in the morning. It seems a rather weird game.

After that, erm, well, didn't do much other than walk around. Though we had a free Kabab dinner and watched Wall-e again. Today, there was also a graduation ceremony and there were really pretty fireworks. There was a change of plans and I shall be going Perth city instead of Fremantle tomorrow.Lets hope we don't get lost. Did you know trains here change destination randomly? My friend took a train and there was a sudden announcement that they are going to change train destination! Weird isn't it? We shall go visit Fremental next week.

Orientation: Day 3

It is an EXTREMELY hot day. I think it hit 41! LOL! In Hokkaido, I experienced -41 degrees. Now, I have experienced 41 degrees. So I have experienced -41 to 41 degrees…. Anyway, for the first time in 6 days, I, Cheryl, have finally, LEFT CURTIN CAMPUS!!! (Other then Karawara, the super mart opposite my housing) Yes!!! Finally! I think it was called Corausel or something like that. One of my Singaporean friends bought us there in his car. It was HUGGGEEEE! Even bigger then Vivo city I think. I got pretty confused with the directions in there.

There was a free BBQ tonight and as fellow Singaporeans, of course we will attend. Pasta, potatoes, chicken wings and sausages. The laundry here cost $2.20 per wash. Ridiculous price isn’t it? I am still dying from “Internet deprivation” but in today’s shopping, I gotten a sketchbook~~~! Luvs~! I also saw this internet booth that cost $2 every 20 minutes. Guys, grovel to LAN shops in Singapore.

Anyway, this Friday the five of us (Sinaporeans) are going to Fremantle to take a walk. And on Saturday, we join a school tour (which is unfortunately NOT free) to Caversham Wildlife park, Sandalford Winery, Margaret Chocolate Company, Hillary Boat’s Harbour and the Aquarium. Yep, I am finally leaving the campus grounds.

Orientation: Day 2

I am currently suffering from lack of internet depression… Especially the fact that I am not able load images online anymore. ($~$) HAHA! I am so bored with practically nothing to… Unfortunately I have neither sketchbook nor blank paper with me either!

Anyway, day 2 of orientation and still get lost. Today we had a talk about building connection and I skip the next one which was about driving rules and such. Temperature is really high here at roughly 36 degrees. Tomorrow it is suppose to go up to 39 or something. Though it is hot here, you hardly get to sweat as cool wind still blows which is kind of weird. No matter what, I was half baked today and I will definitely be back tomorrow as I have some compulsory international student thingy tomorrow. GA! I have been putting sun block lotion and moisturizer. It is really troublesome.

We finally understand why Kai, our Singaporean housing assistant, was so happy with the fact that there we going to be 5 girls and 3 guys. TOILETS! GA! Now there are only 4 girls but toilets usage in the morning is really troublesome… Lucky the last girl is taking her masters…

After attempting using my webcam for the 1st time, I swear I would not use it again. I might borrow my friend’s in-built webcam though. I mean just about 5 min 90mb is not a joke for me already…. Let me show you my currently internet changes.

Orientation: Day 1

I met a few of my Singaporean friends which I had made while enrolling in Singapore. One of them apparently brought a car. Car here are really cheap. You can get a 2nd hand one for like $1,800. However, books are a HORROR! I mean 100 over buck for each book you need is not a joke. Thus I got mine at the 2nd hand book store for about half the price. I went to make my student card and it was like instant! "What is your admin number?", "Go sit there and take a picture." Ok! Now printing and paste a sticker and poof, "here you go!" . You are done in under 5 minutes. Though that was pretty efficient, the card look pixelated and VERY yellowish. And a guy from Bangladesh have moved in. He is a pretty amazing guy and he looks more like an Indonesian. He is taking his major in human rights and was a lawyer back in his country. His family background was pretty sad and he told us he actually wanted to be a doctor but because he wanted to help his people(the minority in Bangladesh), he took up law instead. Pretty noble guy....

Vaccum Crisis! Morning Report!

Today is a Sunday, where EVERYTHING is closed here. So I decided to do a bit of cleaning. I plug in the vacuum cleaner and turn it on. Suddenly this MASSIVELY DIGUSTING STENCH HIT me…. Poof I was out. I smack the off button and open the dust pack and to my disgust, the bottom of the whit dust bag was brown…DARK brown with a few flies hovering around it… I stuff the bloody thing back and is currently waiting for my housing assistant to wake up….

This is why kids, DON’T EVER VACCUM FOOD AND LEAVE IT INSIDE THERE FOR MONTHS!!!!!

Daylight savings

I have to say that I don't really like daylight savings. I mean it is 7pm here and it is as bright as 5pm. It feels weird to be sitting here and eating dinner. Today is the 1st attempt in cooking. Though I didn't actually did the cooking and more of the washing up. Haha, no offense to Gwen but the food was just passable. Though I don't think I could really do better. The 2 Malaysians girls have just arrived and were in suits. Crows here sounds weird too. If Singapore crows goes "ARGG", these crows goes "arrrrrr", "warkkk" in this deep tone like a baby yapping. Cheryl Have Landed...

Here is a short update on what is happening after the squeezing of 30kg of clothes into a luggage. LOL! I have finally reach here is one piece. Internet here is VERY expensive so i won't be online much. If you wanna talk to me, just send me an email or the tagbox here. I might consider uploading images but $30 for 500Mb of internet is no funny... I even turn off image loading. Ugh! I am gonna die with my beloved internet soon. P.s. This place is Over run with asians!!!

I have pretty much settled down in my room. The campus is pretty big.... in terms of land. The buildings are scattered all over the place and we got lost quite a few times. There are quite a few shops and a supermart just across the road. Generally the chicken and seafood products are expensive But the beef and lamb products are cheaper. Newspaper here is VERY expensive, costing $2.50 per paperHere my room mates have 3 guys and 5 girls. 4of them are seniors, and the other 2 are malaysians. But now the rest have not arrive yet.

I had lots of fun yesterday. Happy 21st Birthday YaoHui!

Recently(my recently refers to within 6mths), I have been quite interested in Taiko or as some people calls it Daiko. It is a kind of Japanese drumming that you can really feel the vibration. The sound feels like it shakes the air surrounding it and it makes me get really excited to hear the performance. Unfortunately, Daiko is little know in Singapore. I hope to learn it soon~! >w<

There is also a really cute comic about Taiko! It is called Kingyo Sou (Goldfish Sonata). It is about a girl who falls in love with a deaf Taiko player. Pretty sweet!

Sitex

I had went to Sitex for 3 out of the 4 days~!　－ロ－　Even I was amazed by myself~~! LOL. I bought a Creative Zen, a Camera and a 650GB hard disk. I really like to thank Dao Hui, Andrew and Kenneth for accompanying to buy the stuff on Sunday when it was so crowded and the queue was like an hour long each. Not to mention the 3 of them with Kenneth psyco-ing me to get a I-pod classic caused it have 120gb, Andrew/Dao Hui psyco-ing me to get I-touch instead cause it had a bigger screen.

However, I ended getting the one in the middle averge screen and average space as I need not convert files for Zen.... Or so I thought. I spent the whole of yesterday learning that i do need to converty videos for Zen to watch as the difference in the screen does not allow me to watch the show immediately. And it takes so long to convert the files~~~! RARW~~!

I had also went out with Mei yun and Kenneth on saturday.

Haha! Thanks you guys from capoeira for the BBQ! Although there was too much food and the next day(after class), you guys brought us to Bedok to eat a lot again (I think I gain weight), I have lots of fun and the food was great!

A trip last year!

It had been FOREVER since I did some thing of my own... It is kinna sad isn't it? LOL! Anyway, i tried today and found myself wayyyyy out of practice. I think the only acceptable part of what i have drew was the face.... The rest is.... ermmmm... sweat... LOL! Actually, I thought the face looks a little werid too! But, oh well....

Since I started a blog, I wanted to take this chance to show some of my friends the photos from my trip to Japan(Hokkaido) last december. However, when i looked through the photos, I realised one thing.... I wasn't in most of the photos cause I was mostly the one taking it! Dang! LOL I must remember to get people to take more for me during my next trip...

The Beginning of the End

I have finally left Peach Blossom Media. It had already been 6 months which seems both long but yet short and the same time. I have met lots of great friends ~~and enemies~~ ,learnt lots of stuff ~~whether I liked it or not~~ and overall it had been and interesting and educating ~~in more than one way~~ experience. I wish all the best to my dear friends and colleagues.

It have already been decided that I will leave for Australia next year for further studies. I will likely be flying at around January and thus I am torn between excitement and nervousness. Doki! Doki!

I heard that Perth remains extremely racist towards Asians due to the fact most people who live there are of the older generation and are not as accepting towards Asians as the younger generation. And also, that not to go out at night as it is pretty dangerous there compared to Singapore. I am uncertain if i can stop myself if some provokes me though..... Lol I gotta be more careful I guess!
